What’s with the name?

In case you were wondering about the name of the blog,  my eldest’s favourite movie from about the age of 2 was Mary Poppins (closely followed by Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). The final song from the film, ‘Let’s go fly a kite’ has become a bit of a family anthem. It is our ‘go to’ song when we are feeling happy, or need cheering up. My husband, in particular, has taken it into his heart and would be more than happy to give you a word-perfect rendition at the drop of a hat should you be interested. I felt that the lyrics were perfect for describing one of our main reasons for wanting to home educate our children. In order to experience the joys of living children need very little, just a tuppence for paper and string, time to create beautiful objects, and the flexibility to drop everything else and go fly a kite when the need strikes. I hope we can give the girls every opportunity to grow their own set of wings.

  1. Beautiful – I love the philosophy of homeschooling, but I circumstances changed and it wasn’t possible for us. I want to follow your blog but there is no follow button that I can see.

    1. Thank you Liz! I loved your lego challenge post, I wish I could be more creative with lego, I always end up making the same things, will have to give your challenge a go sometime! There should be a subscribe by email bar either on the right side menu or at the bottom depending on what device you are on, or I share my posts to my facebook page if that is easier x
